Impedance audiometry measures movement of the eardrum in response to positive and negative pressure in the ear canal. All Shea Center For Ears patients undergo this simple test.
As pressure in the ear canal rises and falls, the eardrum moves inward and outward. Sensitive equipment measures this drum movement, giving information about the status of structures behind the eardrum.
